Reimagining Patient Representation in Curriculum – A Clinical Reasoning-Bias Reduction Approach

A narrative review of bias in health professions education is being conducted with an aim to inform educational approaches used to address clinician bias towards patient groups with theories of expertise and bias from the clinical reasoning and cognitive psychology literature. Dr. Cheung is building an alternative conceptualization of patient representation in medical training, and for considering the implications for who is represented, what patients are represented with, and how group biases may arise from our approach to patient representation.
