Drs. Bayer, Bell, and Chen will share their experiences with virtual teaching and how they evolved and adapted their teaching approaches during the COVID pandemic. Additionally, the panel will discuss how the distributed medical education program has trained learners to deliver virtual care in the clinical environment. Bringing principles of technology-enhanced education research findings to the discussion, the panel will also explore future developments in virtual teaching and learning in health professions and health sciences education.
Ilana Bayer is an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine and the director, Learning Technologies Lab in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
Amanda Bell is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine and the Regional Assistant Dean of the Niagara Regional Campus of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine.
Ruth Chen is an associate professor in the School of Nursing and the assistant dean, Program for Faculty Development in the Faculty of Health Sciences.
